Lamar Odom and the Lakers are back together again which makes them the favorites in the upcoming season. Odom signed a 4yr/33million dollar contract. I kind of figured that they would come to an agreement sooner or later. It wouldn't have made much sense for Odom to join Miami or any where else because LA was and is his best chance to win another ring.

Chandler for Okafor
The New Orleans Hornets acquire Emeka Okafor in a trade for Tyson Chandler about earlier to day. We knew yesterday this deal was going down. the Hornets have been trying to unload Chandler all offseason. The Hornets get upgraded on rebounding, shot blocking, and post D with Okafor. Chandler was a bit taller and I have doubts on how well Okafor can play center. But if he can produce like he did in Charlotte than it looks good for New Orleans

Nash staying with Suns
The Suns signed 2 time mvp Steve Nash to a 2 year 22million dollar extension today. The Suns were clear that this was their main priority this offseason, but it is said that Nash did consider entering the 09/10 free agent pool. Ultimately I think he realized that staying in Phoenix was his best bet to make the most money. If Steve Nash did enter free agency you have to think the Knicks would have persuaded him to come there with Mike Dantoni coaching there. Steve Nash is the face of the
Phoenix franchise so I think he enjoyed playing there the last 5 seasons. One thing I will say you keep Nash you have to keep Amare it only make sense.

Are the Wizards looking at Marbury
Rumors has it that the Wizards are looking to sign point guard Stephon Marbury this offseason. Forward Antawn Jamison said on Hoops World that he thinks that Marbury would be a good fit. Well he wouldn't because there wont be any minutes for him. I doubt he'll play back up over Randy Foye who was acquired in a trade with Minnesota. Most likely Gilbert Arenas will come back healthy next season so I don't see Marbury getting too much time in Washington. Now they might be targeting Marbury as a emergency point guard looking at Arenas' health issues in seasons past. Unless that's the case I don't see it working.

Zach Randolph to Memphis for Quentin Richardson
Yesterday the Clippers traded Zach Randolph to the Grizzles for Quentin Richardson. I think this was a great trade for both teams. For the Clippers it opens up the starting for Blake Griffin and brings in a guy who can hit outside shots consistently, and play on the perimeter. I think Quentin Richardson is a good addition to a team who can make the playoffs if they can stay healthy. For Memphis they get a stud in Z-bo. Zach Randolph was a 20&10 player last season and has been for the last three season. I think he takes the pressure off of Thabeet to score on the inside, and he also brings in 10 rebounds a game that they need. I think the Grizzles who where last year where last in rebounding at 38.82 now have a chance to make a playoff push next season.
